Aerogel

Aerogel is a nanoscale porous solid material with an extremely high internal porosity (up to 99.8%), and is known as "the lightest solid in the world". It has an extremely low thermal conductivity (as low as 0.012 W/(m·K)) and is one of the solid materials with the best thermal insulation performance known so far. At the same time, it has properties such as high temperature resistance (some types can withstand 1300°C), waterproofing, and sound insulation. Aerogel has been widely used in fields such as aerospace, oil pipelines, thermal insulation for new energy vehicle batteries, and building energy conservation. Due to its high-efficiency and energy-saving characteristics, it is also regarded as one of the key materials for achieving carbon neutrality goals.
